Myofascial Release
Myofascial release applies sustained pressure on targeted areas of connective tissue (fascia) that surround your muscles and bones. This pressure helps to release the restriction in the connective tissue so that you have greater range of motion and less pain. The fibers must be allowed sufficient time to soften and stretch.
– Many patients seek myofascial treatment after losing flexibility or function following an injury or if experiencing ongoing back, shoulder, hip, or virtually pain in any area containing soft tissue.
– Excellent for injury repair, rehabilitation, and mobilisation of muscles, tendons & ligaments.
– Can be very effective to correct posture, release tight/painful muscle bands & knots throughout the body.
– Very effective to correct body posture.
– Can be used to treat a variety of new or old injuries.
For example; Tightness of the tissues that restricts motion or pulls the body out of alignment, causing individuals to favor and overuse one hip or shoulder with symptomatic pain or pain referral.
Soft loose clothing/sportswear is recommended, you will rarely be asked to change/remove it during a treatment.
90% can be performed over the clothes as very little/no oil is ever used.
Ultrasound Therapy
Ultrasound Therapy is used to reduce pain, swelling & inflammation to accelerate healing after soft tissue injury.
The use of different sized piezoelectric crystals, MHz W/CM2 and the use of thermal or non-thermal allow targeted application of ultrasound to a site or injury.
Energy absorption in soft tissue is 0-5 cm internally, intensity decreases as the waves penetrate beyond this point. waves are absorbed primarily by connective tissues, ligaments, tendon’s and facial (and scar tissue)
in the use of pain management, Ultrasound can be used daily!
“phonophoresis” is a technique by which therapeutic ultrasound is used to introduce pharmacologic agents such as CBD’s, anti -inflammatories or analgesic drugs.
Ultrasound waves increase cell membrane permeability through skin into the subcutaneous tissues, creating a safe painless technique to get medication deep into an injury site.
Sports Massage
The massage is done to manipulate soft tissues to improve the body’s performance and recovery. The main goal of this is to loosen your joints and create space around them to make them more flexible. With the massage, the body will handle the strain of an exercise better.
scientists can agree that massage is the best relief for delayed onset muscle soreness and perceived fatigue. sports massage reduced the pain intensity that athletes feel. The therapy also reduces swelling to allow the muscles to recover quickly after exercise. During a workout, your muscles can become torn, forcing an inflammation reaction. Massage will restore blood flow that reduces the swelling, and allows the muscles to heal.
- Increased joint (Range Of Movement)
- Increased flexibility
- Decreased muscle tension
- Decreased neurological excitability (nerves more relaxed)
- Decreased muscle spasms
- Increased sense of well-being
- Decreased anxiety and improved mood
- Better sleep
Dry Cupping
Cupping is an alternative therapy that involves suctioning the skin with glass, plastic, or silicone cups.
Cupping increases blood circulation to the area where the cups are placed. Relieve muscle tension, which can improve overall blood flow and promote cell repair. It may also help form new connective tissues and create new blood vessels in the tissue.
Boost immune function, remove toxins, and reduce pain.
- Altering pain signal processing
- Using counter-irritation, or pain to reduce pain
- Stimulating increased blood circulation through the release of nitric oxide
- Stimulating the immune system with artificial local inflammation
- Increasing the level of immune products, such as interferon and tumor necrotizing factor
- Increasing the flow of lymph in the lymphatic system
- Decreasing uric acid and both types of cholesterol
- Changing the molecular structure and function of haemoglobin
Dry Needling – E-Stim
Dry needling is a treatment that healthcare providers use for pain and movement issues associated with myofascial trigger points. With this technique, a provider inserts thin needles into or near your trigger points. The needles stimulate your muscles, which causes them to contract or twitch. this can be accompanied by the use of E-Stim to force contractions and reset neurological tension allowing muscle to return to fully lengthens state.
Acupuncture is traditionally used to ease pain, discomfort, or issues by opening up your chi or healing energy, while dry needling is designed to stimulate your trigger points or irritable muscles.
Lymphatic Drainage
Simply put, it is a lymphatic drainage massage that helps relieve muscle tension, eliminate unnecessary toxins from the body, aid in cellulite reduction, tone your body, and firm your skin.
Skin rolling helps to increase circulation, stretch muscles and fascia tissues, and decrease muscle tightness and tension.
For someone with edema, lymphedema, lipoedema, or a similar condition, a lymphatic drainage machine offers a life-changing treatment option. These machines, also known as lymphatic pumps or pneumatic compression devices, help relieve pain, stimulate fluid movement, and prevent diseases from worsening.
